Well, Steven finally got that call that all players dream & work hard for! It was a bitter sweet moment, for the call came not too long after the tragedy in Boston.
Ella & I made the trip to Cleveland, meeting his parents and my brother, waiting for the inning he would make his debut! How funny to be called up when facing the Tribe! Unfortunately, in the three games there, Steven was unable to come out of the pen. The sox have him in a long relief position and the starters have been doing great. Nevertheless, it's been a blast seeing my hubby living his dream as a big leaguer!!
Last night we flew back into Boston only to wake up and find the city in lockdown for the remaining suspect. Hopefully they can catch the guy and the city can start to heal. It breaks my heart to see innocent people go through so much tragedy and to see lil kids, who have no idea how evil this world can be, get killed. It makes me want to put Ella in a protective bubble and lock her inside. I thank The Lord every day that He is before us, beside us and behind us. Without The Lord I would fear for Ella's future every day!
Lots of prayer go out to the families in Boston and to the families of the boys responsible. I cannot imagine what a mother would feel knowing her child did something so unthinkable! May the people in Boston, and the world for that matter, feel the need for Jesus more than ever: the ultimate savior, comfort, protector, and peace provider! "Vengeance is mine, says The Lord"
